What Does Healing Mean?

Heal. This is such a loaded word. It’s a word of hope—of the promise of wholeness. But it also can be used as a weapon against lament and against action and against processes that take a long time. Know. This word makes me think of the swirl of knowing-in-my-head versus knowing-in-my-heart. The journey from intellectual knowledge to knowing something with your whole being can be such a challenge. Vision Rooted in Love (Five Minute Friday: Vision)

Vision. This word makes me think about the fiery prayers I prayed as a teenager, passionate about ministry and the gospel. I wanted to understand the world as God saw it—but too often I assumed that the way God saw the world was the way I saw it or the way my favorite teachers or writers saw it. Continue reading
